Happy April!
The rain we’ve been drenched with the last few months has left the Coastside springing into spring and glowing with vibrant green grass and wildflowers, so I figure it’s the perfect time for another outdoor Tiny House Concert!
It’s this coming Friday, 4.19 at our spot in Princeton. I’ll be playing first, followed by awesome outlaw folk duo Smith and Tegio (watch a video of their quirky, foot tapping style here!) There’ll be a potluck around 6 (bring something if you want, or don’t worry about it!) and music at 7. Tickets by donation at the door. ‘Tis gunna be a good one!
Next month I’m ridiculously excited to showcase at Canadian Music Week in Toronto. It’s Canada’s longest running industry conference and music festival and I’ll be there! My showcase is Tuesday, May 7 at The Cameron House at 10pm if you know anyone out that way. I’m also looking for other gigs during the week I’ll be there, if you know anyone in Toronto who might want to host a house concert, reply to this email and let me know!
When I return, I’ll be at The Lost Church in SF again with some of my favorite people/bands, Cassie Levy, Ali Oswalt and The Fourth Son among others in a Songwriters in the Round show 5.15 at 8pm.
Finally, I’ll also be setting up at HMB airport’s classic car festival, Dream Machines next weekend on 4.28, playing for a few hours during the day. Not sure where on when yet, but if you’re going keep an eye or ear out.

February 2019
Early February is a special time for me, as Sunday marked the one year anniversary of my album launch (and one of the most stressful, wonderful days of my life). I had the launch show at a lovely little art gallery here on the coast, and with posters everywhere and articles in the San Francisco Chronicle and Half Moon Bay Review, over 100 people showed up.
We were far past capacity and I majorly pissed off the stuffy women running the joint, but I will remember 2.3.18 as the day I pushed past the crippling fear of making a career of my own music and began what has become the greatest drive and passion of my life. I booked and played and carted my wee harp to 88 gigs in 6 states in 2018, and I am so grateful to continue doing what I love this year. Easy it isn’t, but worth it, it is.

January 2019
2019! Yikes.
January has been mostly made interesting by rain and hibernating with tea and blankets, but I’ve put up a few new videos and am excited to play The Lost Church in SF a week from today (Tuesday, 1.29) with my good friend and americana singer/songwriter Kyle Carey.

I met Kyle when I lived on the Isle of Skye as part of a year long fluency course in Scottish Gaelic. Being from New Hampshire herself, we connected as American fish out of water and over a mutual love of Gaelic language and music.
We’ve stayed friends over the years and I’m thrilled to share the stage at The Lost Church, a quaint little 50 seater venue in the Mission. We’re hoping to collaborate on a song or two, and it should be a lovely evening of music!
In other news, I’m headed to Boston mid March and Oahu shortly after, keep an eye out for show updates! December 2018
December is nearly gone, Christmas is nearly upon us and I’m running twenty something days late writing this, but what else is new. NY was an absolute dream and I can’t wait to go back sometime next year. Had a sold out Sofar sounds show in a apartment where the elevator was the only door, a magical gig at The Bitter End in Greenwich Village, a delightful concert in a fire-house-turned-art-center outside of Nyack, too much whiskey and far too little sleep…
A few of those last points combined with the shitty air quality from the fires when I got back lost me my voice for a few weeks but I’m fighting to be back to normal and getting excited for my last gig of the year, this coming Thursday, 12.27 at Hotel Utah on Bryant st in SF. I’ll be starting the night out, with a set at 8pm followed by Smith and Tegio and Jet Dread Stone. The Utah is a rad little venue and it’s bound to be a fun night! Tickets ($10) can be bought below. I’ll also be playing at another great SF venue in January, The Lost Church on Tuesday, 1.29 with Kyle Carey (a good friend of mine from my Scotland days on the Isle of Skye). Tickets and info aren’t up yet, but I’ll keep you updated.
This year has been amazing, and I have many musical/traveling plans to make 2019 even better as next week’s gig marks my 86th live performance of original music since Feb 1. Upcoming touring plans are in the air still but I’ll likely be making my way through NYC, Los Angeles, Oahu, Seattle, Portland, San Diego, Boston, Kansas City and perhaps others…be in touch if you’d like to put together a house concert or have thoughts on places to play, and hope I get to see many of you in 2019!

Happy June! Or if you live on the coast or elsewhere the dreaded cloud cover frequents this month, happy June Gloom.
Kansas City was amazing and I actually get why my sister moved there now, it’s really quite endearing. Also holy multiple cows, the BBQ is good.
The Knuckleheads gig opening for Keith Harkin was a blast of a sold out show, and I’m super stoked to be opening for him again tonight at Fiddler’s Green in San Francisco at 6:30. There are still a few tickets left and would love to see some of you there. He is mad good, hilariously funny and delightfully Irish. So you should probably go!

A few other exciting shows coming up, including headlining the San Francisco Free Folk Festival this coming Saturday, June 9 at Everett Middle School (was on KALW 91.7fm yesterday afternoon performing and promoting the festival) and having booked the first gig of my summer southern California tour at the Ojai Art Exchange, August 11. Also focused on booking a Portland/Seattle tour mid-late July and a New York (and possibly other east coast states) sometime this fall, looking like either early October or early November.

Headed off to Kansas City this week on a mini tour; a house concert Friday, May 25 and opening for Keith Harkin Saturday the 26 at Knuckleheads Saloon. Looking very much forward to it! Also get to visit my sister who moved out there last year (from California. On purpose. Still trying to figure that out). Tickets for the 26th here

February has gone by in a beautifully disorganized blur (there’s a metaphor for my life in that sentence somewhere…) with 8 shows promoting ‘Who Asked You Back’ between San Francisco and my home town of Frazier Park in SoCal. The cold, losing my voice for a few weeks and dumping rain in Half Moon Bay had me very much looking forward to taking some time away, and I’ve been on the North Shore of Oahu on a 2 week visit since this past Sunday.
I’ve put together a few places to play while I’m over; a house concert in Hawaii Kai, on the Makaha side at a taco joint the evening (7-8:30ish) of Sunday the 25th, and opening for the metal-meets-bagpipes band Celtica at two Irish pubs in Honolulu, from 7:30-8:30 Thursday the 29th and 8-9 Friday the 30th.
I will return to the Bay just in time to play at Hotel Utah supporting Christina LaRocca on the 1st, and again in the city April 6th supporting my good friend Cassie Levy at her second album release show for her new album ‘Tides Rising‘. I’ve also been accepted to play the San Francisco Free Folk Festival in June, will share more when I know more.

As of February 3rd, ‘Who Asked You Back’ has finally been released! The first release party/concert went smashingly Saturday, and with a mention in both the HMB Review and the SF Chronicle, there were nearly 100 people coming and going throughout the evening. We only had 50 chairs, so that was fun!
The album is now up on itunes et al, and you can buy a physical cd here.

‘Who Asked You Back’ is finally getting released! After an unexpected move and general holiday madness, I decided to put off the release until I had some time to breathe and perhaps a slightly better chance at brain function. I at least have time to breathe now so here we go!
It will be officially released (and on my website, itunes etc.) February 3rd, with release party/concerts Saturday, February 3rd on the coast (337 Mirada ART: 337 Mirada, Half Moon Bay) and the following Saturday, February 10th in the city (Sand Studios Shop: 449 Bryant st, San Francisco). Both with be from 6-10 with music from 7-9, and featuring some awesome musical guests as well as myself.
There’ll be wine and cheese, I’m making some t shirts that I’ll be screen printing on and it’s looking all very exciting! Tickets are by donation at the door, hope you can make it!

I am wrapping up recording my first album, of original music. It’s wonderfully, weightily stressful. And expensive and terrifying and exciting. Assuming things go as they go, it should be done by the end of August.
I’ve finally put up the video for my song ‘Dirty Money’ which you can find on youtube.
Most Thursday evenings I play traditional Scottish and Irish music outside of New Leaf, Half Moon Bay. Busking status. The other day a lady gave me a bag of steamed broccoli while I was there. It was weird.
